 Chapter 1

He sat beside her , holding her hand in Hospital ICU. Where visitors were not allowed, but she was adamant to meet her grandson Maan, otherwise she was refusing any medical treatment..This old lady was non other than Savitri Devi Khuraana. Who got major cardiac attack two days ago.


He was mum..But his sobs like a small child were audible to his GM..He rested his elbows on bed side, bending his head down, he clutched her Daddi's hand close to his heart.Tears were dribbling down, wetting GM's arm. " Maan Betay I you have to marry her ? If you don't take right decision now, You will kill four lives." she begged, in feeble voice.


" But Daddi, how is this possible ? She is carrying Dev's child..When he himself is fighting for life ? How can I do this ? " With agonising pain, he cried out.


SD raised her shivering hand n ruffled Maan's hair  " This is the reason Son, doctors have dropped weapons. Dev has gone in coma, He ll come out or not, they don't know.. And that poor girl, how much she has to suffer ? " Indirectly SD indicated pointed toward, some past incident which was his Achilles' Heel." Even in that attack, she has forgotten one phase of her life..She knows Dev just as ur brother, but not as father of her child" 


" Some how doctors saved her child, someone hit her on head not else where.But more metal stress can cause miscarriage or ll lead her to mental asylum.." As she said in hollow voice. fresh streak of tears rolled down,from corner of her eye.


Despondent Maan gazed Daddi unblinkingly..Wasn't it true fate was playing Tit for Tat ? He ended up again, from where he fled. Leaving everything for a girl, who ditched him..He was back and Daddi was troubling him, to accept a girl, with whom his brother was in love. 


His mind was numb. How much had happened within short span of time. Daddi called him from US..Because by hook or crook, she wanted him to get married... With a girl named Geet. But he didn't gave any chance to Daddi for emotional  blackmailing. Maan flew back to US. Choosing his love Sam over Geet.


He was amazed, how suddenly priorities of people change in blink of eye..At one side Sam ditched him behind his back. He discovered Sam was jus behind his riches.On other side this girl Geet, she was carrying her brother Dev's child. Once his Granny chose for him.


" Daddi Maa, how ll I face Dev ? Most importantly what ll happen, if Geet gets to know  the reality ?" he questioned gravely.


" What reality son ? That your Daddi Maa is on death bed.Or your brother's chance of surviving is minimal..Answer me !!" she glared him " Still I stayed strong, when I got that devastating news...Tried to gather myself, even when doctor told me about Dev's condition..But it shattered me,when I got to know, what was Geet's mental state..And then landed up here in ICU. This is reality " anger crept in her voice..ECG monitors were ready to explode, with her rising heart beats..Maan,he couldn't lose his only relation. He couldn't let her go.When his brother's survival was not sure.


Maan filled her Daddi's face in his hands. He broke down, screamed for doctor " Daddi, I promise, I...I promise Dadi..." his voice shivered " Everything will happen according  to your wishes ..But please don't leave me..I ll die if something happens to you "


Very next moment ,together with 2 nurses Doctor dashed inside, pushing Maan  out of room..Maan's words echoed in SD's mind before fainting..At last she convinced him..He was the only saviour, on him every life, every relation depends n ll depend...


Maan paced in corridor too n fro..worried, cursing himself..At last rested his lifeless body against wall..With closed eyes,he was introspecting..Did his one wrong decision, was root cause of these circumstances ? Soon after his denial for Geet, in front of whole society...Destiny paid him back...Sam ditched him, broke his heart in millions of pieces. In exact way, he shattered all dreams of an innocent girl.


" Mr. Khuraana she is stable now..I don't know, what matter you two were discussing ? But for now warning you, a little more stress could lead her to death.." he came out of his thoughts, when Doctor petted him over shoulder. Giving clear indication about bewildering storm with his one wrong step..


He dropped down to waiting chair outside room, when every episode flashed inside his mind..His Daddi always stayed strong, just for him n his younger sibling Dev.When they lost their parents at tender age..She ran Khuraana Empire successfully for years.. until Maan took over her.



Now this part is from my prospective not Maan's..Flash backs from the past :  

From High School to Masters Maan completed his education in US. Hence he was't that much attached to his roots..Still for him, his  Daddi was his whole world. Her every wish became sole motive of his life..


But Dev was inseparable from Daddi...and was living a cheerful life with her in India..Every year duo Daddi & Grand Son, paid visit to their ancestral village Tejpur in HP District.


Khuraana clan had very warm relations with Handas from Maan's Grand Pa's times..Handas' own high reputed and respect in society..Distance between HP and Delhi , could never affect the bonding two clan shared..Daddi had a strong desire to make , Handa's Grand daughter Geet as her Grand DIL.


19 years old girl had no match with Maan in studies. But she was pursuing her Graduation from local institution..According to SD, only Geet was ideal DIL for Khuraana Family. Most importantly exact solution to get rid of Sam, Maan's love interest from University times..He was madly in love with her, and in her blind love, couldn't sense she was distancing him from SD.


Geet never met elder Khuraana..But her heart had started to beat for Maan, from when she didn't know.She realised, she was in love, when she understand its definition Just by hearing, praise of him, his achievements. From males of her family to SD n Dev ( coz both generally visit HP every year except Maan)  


She stole his images which SD brought every time, holding trophies, taking selfies, while hanging out with friends, or extra curricular activities..When  SD asked for Geet hand for Maan in front of Chaudhary Handa..Who could be much happier than him ? But cultural differences between children, they never considered it.


Every year when Maan visited Daddi during vacations...their light conversation ended up in a fight on the topic of Sameera..Daddi had sensed true intentions of that girl..Her family background..Everything was enough to understand, she was just behind Maan's riches..


But Sam brainwashed him..She was not ready to shift to India at any cost.. She declined to go to India, even when Maan took charge of KC. She knew well, SD would definitely flop her plan, if she stayed close to SD.

But love sick puppy Maan, moved back to US for her.Just after running KC from India, for few months only.


It was ruining KC reputation earned in years....Dev was giving his 100%, to save that trust people had on them..But he was not that much efficient as Maan was..Enough was enough, by hook or crook Daddi decided to bring Maan  back Tie him in knot with Geet.. 

( u can fantasize  any situation, how she compelled him, to come back to India and then to accompany her to HP. Without disclosing her true intentions. Becoz we knew, what kind of numerous tricks Daddi play to trap Maan in different fictions)


Geet was thanking Babaji in every breath she was taking..For turning her only dream to reality..When she had no right to express her wish in male dominating family..Where family repute was at dominance. She was getting engaged to Maan.



Maan was told, that there was some family gathering in Handa Haveli..Daddi some how convinced Maan to join her & Dev..She had full faith in upbringing and values, she gave to her grand kids...Maan was stubborn, short tempered. But she had feeling,he would never let her down in front of society.By accepting her decision, of this sudden declaration of his engagement, without his consent.


Sometimes circumstances take sudden turn. We never get what we expect. Same happened here. Maan proved her Daddi wrong..His love affair of few years, overpowered his mind, by letting down, those blood ties he shared by birth He forgot those sacrifices Daddi did. When he came across reality, he didn't think twice making decision. Humiliated both families, rejecting innocent  girl (Geet) in front of society.. Without looking back once, he left for US by next available flight..


Every finger was pointing toward poor girl, when she was not any fault..She collapsed in middle of courtyard..with her shattered dreams..Harsh words were piercing her heart..Instead of consoling her.People were gossiping, if there was any fault in girl or her character?  That Maan refused her, torn her image in every eye.


He didn't bother about anything..Just weak girl became victim of circumstances Even she couldn't raise her voice.


According to Maan's trip, he should be in India..But he returned US,6 days in prior. Sam was not aware of it.In hurry to meet her, to share his grief , he rushed toward their flat.As they were in Live in Relation..He didn't bell..As generally Sam remained out at this time. He opened door with spare keys.


Like some one pulled rug underneath his feet.Finding his old competitor from collage days Rahul, in his room, in his bed with Sam.With whom Maan was never at good terms..


He heard their convo, that how Sam was befooling Maan..To fetch money, as much she could.She knew well,if Maan married her, Daddi would disown Him He was ready for that too, in blind love..But he didn't know Sam will dump him, if ever he had to choose Sam over his inheritance.


He kicked her out of his life..But in betrayal,he was loosing himself bit by bit..He started to drink heavily..From US, he shifted to his London office.



After that Engagement drama, Sam's betrayal, and Maan's getting settle in London, more than two months had been passed..


Shockingly three days back, from very this moment in hospital, he got this ruinous news.. That some goons brutally attacked Dev along with his fiancee.. Much to his surprise, she was the same girl..with whom he denied to get engaged..More strange discovery, she was 3-4 weeks pregnant, with Dev's child without marriage...It was indigestible that girl with such high moral values could take some wrong step.


During these months Dev was working on some project in Hoshiarpur.. On days he called Daddi, jolting her that Geet was pregnant with his child.So they were willing to get married as soon as possible, for this they were coming back to Delhi. Even dropping his important project in between..Before they could escape from HP silently, some goons attacked them (ll give details with progress of plot )



After getting this news Maan came back without wasting any time. And was standing here all alone, with creeping fear every single moment.. Daddi, Dev n Geet all were in Chandigarh hospital from past 3 days..


Dev went to Coma...Doctors sensed Pregnant Geet was in amnesia, loosing two years of her memory..That broken engagement episode with Maan had been washed from her memory..


What happened during these months, how she developed relations with Dev, then conceived, every memory had been erased. Even no one told her, that she was pregnant.Just other man, who knew every little secret that was Dev. He was in coma.


Her memory had been drifted back to two years, where she was still in love with Maan...He was that dream, like every other girl has about Prince Charming 

Now If Maan accepted her, she would easily accept her pregnancy. Daddi wanted to befool Geet for her and her baby's sake. That she got married to Maan during the span of time Geet had forgotten.. She would never accept herself as unwed mother. Who was carrying anyone else child other than Maan.
