Chapter 20

She was shivering like a dry leaf..What was gonna happen next moment ? What was in her fate ? Why God always kept on snatching everything what ever she possessed ? Why he gave her momentary joys, followed by unbearable pain. Did she has no rite to live like any simple girl, with her little dreams ?



" Why Maan is not back yet ? If...if  his family is here, to take him ? " she slid herself up, tried to get down from bed..Her stiff body n sour feet didn't allow her to move an inch on hard floor " No , not this time..No, No..I have to fight with my fate this time.." she plucked the drip needle n pushed away the stand..Her heart was beating fast, she couldn't breath in proper way..Dared to say manically.." No no , he can't leave me , he can't leave Amu. I trust you..I trust my Maan"  yes she trusted him more than own.But her subconscious memory had drifted her toward the day, when Dev separated Maan from her, 5 years ago..She was repeatedly mumbling same.




" Mam, what are u doing ? Please, please calm down.Your husband ll be back, within minutes."  nurse patiently tried to calm her, requesting Geet to sit down.. supporting her from shoulders.." Your feet are sour.."




" Wo wo mere Maan." she clinched her Mangalsutar tight with one hand n pointed toward door with other..To make nurse understand..Nurse's heart ached looking at poor girl's plight.



" Ok k, I m gonna inform him, but first calm yourself up." nurse trailed hand over Geet's cheek ,n looked around for water.



Unfortunately there was no water jug " Just wait for a while..Let me bring water for you n inform your husband." she forcibly made Geet sit down. Trebling girl gripped nurse's wrist tightly. Some how nurse freed her arm n moved out.



Nurse assumed Maan was with doctor in her cabin.She rushed to that direction. But Maan was in discussion with doctor, little far from room  in corridor.Nurse didn't notice them in hurry.



It was just a co-incidence. Anxious Daddi decided to met Geet once. Just when she entered room, no one was around, except Geet...Who was sitting at the edge of bed. Not a milli meter she moved, from where nurse asked her to sit..Holding bed post, she was rocking her upper body, too n fro like any pendulum.



Shivering girl's back faced Daddi..She startled with the view in front. Why this girl was behaving abnormally, same she witnessed at temple ? Her heart melted, hearing Geet's sobs..For time being she forgot , the reason of her visit ? Innocent face of girl , flashed in front of SD's eyes... " Geet, Geet..! ",  Daddi covered few inches more toward her..Her presence alerted Geet..She cocooned herself in own structure.."Hum mandir main miley they na aapse.." Daddi reminded her.. 



How long she could take. Daddi's presence was suffocating her, panicking her..She screamed her lungs out " Maan, Maan ! " for time being, running world around, stood still. People outside didn't take a single step forward, their attention diverted toward screaming source.



Geet was behaving so weird to Daddi.. She was the same girl, how much comfortable she was with her....Just an hour before...Now mere few words from SD, scared her to death....Much too surprise, why she was chanting Maan's name ? 





A cold shiver ran down Maan's spine. He rushed toward room. Followed by doctor. Also she was warning people, to mind their own business to avoid any crowd.




At threshold Maan rooted to spot. His mind boggled..He looked at Daddi..He never thought Daddi could go to this extent..to find out truth of Maan n Geet's closeness.


 * One think I wanna remind you, Daddi was still unaware of , what relation they shared?




Without arguing  Daddi, he reached Geet , and embraced her, in protective shell of his arms..Pecked her on forehead..assuring she was safe. She grabbed his collar with one hand n other arm wrapped around his back...getting more anxious.." Main hu na tumhare pass, huh fir kyo darr rahi ho.." he wispered near to her ear n brushed her hair backward.




Things were more muddling up for Daddi..She gave a quizzical look to Maan, desiring answer...Dr. Swati hesitated to come forward.. Coz it seemed more personal matter, rather than medical reason, behind Geet's behaviour. She witnessed it like silent spectator, at the door... If ever Geet needed her. She could come forward in jiffy.




Maan dropped a stern gaze at Daddi. Why she was chasing every where ? He didn't know..what actually happened...Hence no way he could accuse SD's dignity,  in front of doctor. His eyes pleaded atleast to co-operate him " Daddi, its my polite request, could you please wait for me little...Hum baat karte hai na fir.." keeping calm he said..





From her experience,Daddi sensed his distressed condition. Because to be polite was not part of arrogant MSK's nature..She left with no other option.She shrugged, sighed deeply. Giving a stern look she moved out .With numerous unanswered questions...




As she left, doctor marked her entry inside...Maan was hell annoyed with nurse's absence...But his anger could scare Geet more, he kept calm, fuming inwardly.




"You were supposed to be here. ?" Dr. questioned nurse, who just returned with jug of water in hand.




" Doctor, Mam was asking for her husband continuously. I just went out to bring water for her n to inform Sir in your cabin. But no one was there.." scared nurse justified herself, tried to read Maan's expressions n then doctor.




She was not at fault. Why to stretch this topic? " Its okey doctor.I think nurse ki koi galti nahi..But I need little privacy " convinced with nurse's explanation Maan asked. It relieved nurse.




Dr. silently raised her brow, diverting his attention toward Geet, who had hid his face in Maan's chest..Maan nodded not to worry...Both ladies left them alone..closing door behind..He squeezed Geet tightly in his embrace. like wanna hide her from all this world.




" According to doctor Geet is under severe trauma, after meeting with accident. Even warned not to mention, her regained voice issue, in front of her.. She is in anguish, fearing that history ll repeat itself." he rubbed her back, thinking how to tackle present scenario ..




" Hope my practical approach, fails medical science. I have to bring out, those fears she has stored inside her..Only then I ll get a way to bring her out of her insecurities." Determinately he decided to take this daring step.




Before that he had to prepare Geet mentally, who was inseparable from him " Saath they, saath hai aur hamesha rahegay...Yehi unkaha vaada kiya tha na humne... shuru se..How could we break our promise? " with lump in his throat, her questioned. His heart ached, examining her condition.."





He didn't need much effort to free himself from her fragile body.. She gripped his bicep, but he removed her hand " Just like you are fearing, that my family will snatch me, away from you..I admit, I had same insecurity from the day I met you...The way you were running away from me..After that I didn't want to loose you..So Kunal's men were keeping eye on ur every movement..." With his confession, Geet heart  skipped beats..She looked at him unblinkingly..Till now even her shadow was scared off, from the influence n power of Khuraanas...But for this man, who keep world under his feet...mere dust like her, it valued more than his life..





" We have forgotten our promise to trust each other..Its time to introspect..to find how much we trust each other. So I am going. If you trust me, you ll not come behind me..Same implies on me too. I ll not spy on you more..Lets c where our relation leads us " Without looking back, he rushed out, leaving stunned Geet behind..She just kept on staring , when he banged the door shut..





She stood still there blank, mere like a statue.. Maan's words echoed in her mind." IF YOU TRUST ME, YOU WILL NOT COME BEHIND ME" She gazed painted white walls.100 times brighter, than those municipality hospitals rooms' filthy boundaries.





She thought about that lifeless creature, Who was on other's mercy. What was his identity ? He was gonna survive next moment or not? He felt anything or something for her?  She had no clue that time..Atleast she could touch her, express her feelings..





His appearance, later his name, she come knew too...What about him ? He just knew, he was breathing n his heart was beating..Still after 5 years more than her, he was fulfilling his unsaid promise, toward a girl who could be his hallucination..But he was adamant, to find her existence..Due to which, people around him tagged him as maniac.





He was more loyal than her. How could she distrust him ? Socially n legally, he was hers.. love her unconditionally..She had Kunal beside her, like a strong pillar..What was haunting her than? No she couldn't give more grief to him..Very next moment, her insensible mind, automatically dragged her to bed...She laid down ...Her memory was just focused on their relation.

                      TU TU HAI WAHI, DIL NE JISE APNA KAHA "

" Aabke judai ek sazaa se kam nahi hogi, Kaise soch sakti hu, k Aap mujhe wo sazza dengay... Jab Ki aapne khud saalon yahi sazaa kaati hai mere binna."
( Life is like a punishment without you..When for years,life was nothing more than a punishment for you too, without me. How could I doubt your intentions, that you would leave me alone to experience same ? )




                     MIL JAAYE IS TARAH, DO LAHRE JIS TARAH 

"Aaj fir se do zisam ek zindgi jee rahe hai..Hum wo do lehrain hai, jo ek ho gayin hai fir se.. Jiinko hamesha ek dariya main, milna hota he hota hai. Ek aisa dariya , jis ki jiski nishani hamara bacha hai "
( Now two bodies are breathing one like one life.. like we were two streams before and now mingled to be one..after emerging in a river..This is destiny of two streams always. A reality implies on us. Our child is biggest proof of our love.



                     PHIR HI NA JUDA, HAAN YEH VAADA RAHA 

" Haan, Aab koi bhi humko judaa nahi kar sakta. I trust you n now trust me myself too."  
(Yes no one can separate us this time. I trust you n have trust on, own self too.)





Around same time when Maan came out: 


" Geet its high time. To assess our determination.. to overpower the shadows of past...Its Neither about our love, nor trust.." he made headway, so to get ready for upcoming storm n probable drastic outcomes from it. It was important for both. Unknowingly his feet dragged him toward Garden for Private ward unit.




Daddi was waiting at little distance from room. But before she could notice Maan, in a blink, he vanished away from her sight..Situation was such she couldn't chase him, or back call him.



She dropped down on waiting chair...Already frustrated n in black mood...she looked daggers at Dev, when her tapped on her shoulder "Fir se bhag gaye aapke bhai shaab " she nodded head in dejection .




" Kya ? " he yelled in disbelief.His spects were in his hand next time.


* ( Isn't it like any hindi movie...Dev's " Kya !" echoing numerous times in single take " Kya , Kya , Kya.........!" ..Good...good Dev u can try in Bollywood..How ever jokes apart )




" His act came as no surprise to me..What we can expect?" She pulled Dev's unwounded arm n made him sit next to her.Still it had sprain n some minor scratches.




" Aaah Daddi, why you are bringing out Bro frustration, torturing me ? " he squeezed his eyes to get over his pain.




" I am ashamed of myself act Beta. Just Maan was on my head..How could I do this to u ?" on the verge of cry. Daddi mildly pressed his arm to sooth him little..Dev looked in her teary eyes. How much her heart might be aching..Her intentions were not to hurt him.




" Don't get panic Daddi,I am fine.Don't feel bad " he wiped off old lady's tears.





She pretended to smile. Trailed hand over his cheek. " What doc said to u son ? How much time it gonna take to recover " putting a glance over his dressed arm, within dangling within arm sling support..

                                   Arm Sling / Support Belt/ Pouch

" Daddi nothing sharp pierced, so there was no need for stitches..But injury is due to friction against concrete road..It ll take around 2 weeks to heel. Please don't u worry " getting a grip over his pain, he assured. In reality damage with friction was more than wound heeling with stitches..He had severe injuries due to strong friction over concrete road..But he didn't want to give more stress to his Daddi.




" Huh " she sighed deeply " I prey almighty for your quick recovery. I can't bear your pain"  Wrapping arm around his shoulder, she kissed his forehead.




" Aisa he hoga Daddi, I am fine. We have to think about this new situation." he pretended to smile, and diverted the topic of discussion " What about that girl..Wo bhi bro k saath gayi kya ?"




Her mind startled, how could she forget that girl " No she is very much here..I visited her, she was screaming, acting maniacally, seeing me...like I am an alien from other world..." frustrated, she narrated whole episode to Dev.




" Daddi, this girl is root cause of worse that happening..Its enough now..Aab mujhe lagta hai , k yeh drama kar rahi hai..Taking advantage of Bro's mental condition.We have to deal with her now, instead of  running behind Bro.." determinately he suggested, getting up from chair.






Little confused Daddi stared at Dev.. First ever she saw him this much confident " Dev, she is using Maan or not I am not sure.. But what happened during accident, that was reality. That truck might have crushed her. If you didn't have saved her."she corrected..




Unsure Dev nodded his head , n rested one arm over his waist..





Inside Geet's room




After much introspection..After binding own trust...Geet gathered all her courage, this was time to face world. Maan's world.. She picked pen n paper pad from side table..n made her way toward corridor. She was not sure Maan's Daddi was outside or had left with him. But she would definitely find them..Otherwise It was also not a big deal...he could pressurise Kunal to call Savitri Devi.. Coz Daddi was too curious to meet her When she herself invaded in this room...Still she couldn't recognise her regained speaking ability.




Placing first step out of room, she shivered..." For Maan's trust, Geet you have to trust own self first..Like Babaji gave me my Maan back, he is with me this time too.." she looked up remembering almighty, to boost her morale.




She came out at last..Looked around..She found Maan's presence no where, But yes Dev & Daddi were definitely there. At distance of few meters..Engrossed in their own conversation. They didn't pointed her out..Daddi was sitting. looking up at standing Dev. Whose back was facing Geet.





With mild pace n daring not to break silence in empty corridor..she covered this distance like miles away. Still neither they noticed her, nor expected that she could dare to take such step..





With trembling legs, at last she reached, near to Daddi's chair..She stood still, to mark her presence, letting them break silence first..Getting no response, she took initiative. Tapped Daddi's shoulder.
